Cabbage Slaw:

  • 1/2 head green cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1/2 medium red onion, small diced
  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Jalapeno Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • Salt to taste

Crispy Fish:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup sparkling water or beer
  • Ultra-Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil, for frying
  • 1 lb fresh halibut or other firm-fleshed white fish, cut into 1-inch thick strips

Avocado Habanero Crema:

  • 2 medium avocados
  • 1 tablespoon Habanero Fused Olive Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic Infused Olive Oil
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Make the Cabbage Slaw:
    • In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage, diced red onion, diced tomatoes, chopped cilantro, Jalapeno Olive Oil, lime juice, and salt. Toss well and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Crispy Fish:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, chili powder, baking powder, and salt. Add sparkling water or beer and whisk until smooth. Let the batter sit for 15 minutes.
    • Heat Ultra-Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil in a large pot to 350°F (180°C).
    • Coat each fish strip in the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Fry the fish in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Drain on a wire rack set over a baking sheet lined with paper towels.
  3. Make the Avocado Habanero Crema:
    • In a blender, combine avocados, Habanero Fused Olive Oil, Garlic Infused Olive Oil, sour cream, lime juice, and salt. Blend until smooth.
  4. Assemble the Tacos:
    • Warm tortillas.
    • Place a spoonful of cabbage slaw on each tortilla.
    • Top with a piece of crispy fried fish.
    • Drizzle with avocado habanero crema.
    • Garnish with sliced radish.
